Testing and Reading Your ERMI Results
ERMI Tests are Daunting. Let’s Try to Make a Little Sense of Them.
What test to use? In general, the ERMI test is a great place to start. You can get that here. It is a dust test you can use in your home/office. Mold spores are so small thousands to millions can be on a speck of dust and this lab will test what is potentially problematic in areas you can’t see (often behind walls/under flooring).
How many tests? Depending on the square footage, it’s ideal to use one test per floor.
When do I test? You can test anytime of the year but if you keep windows open for the majority of a season, that can skew results. You want the best snapshot of your indoor air so test accordingly.
