About Red Aspen Wellness
About Dr. Sheila, D.A.C.M., L.Ac.
In my core acupuncture training I studied orthopedic/sports acupuncture under one of the earliest and most proficient sports needlers in the industry, Whit Reaves. This included trigger point local acupuncture (dry needling) and traditional acupuncture (meridian). I went on to help teach trigger point needling for many years.
I have worked in emergency clinics, out-patient rehabs, private practice, hospitals, and was the staff acupuncturist for Good Samaritan for 6 years in Lafayette CO where I additionally treated many oncology patients at the Colorado Cancer Center.
After 10 years in practice, I went on to pursue my doctorate in acupuncture and Chinese medicine from the Pacific College of Health and Science.
I also had the honor of serving on the Acupuncture Association of Colorado state board.
Meet Charles
Charles is the assistant practitioner. He works from home and is on hand when research and writing is taking place. Some call him the brains of the operation. It might be true.
Over time I developed a “knack” for understanding mold toxicity along with the ball of wax that it is including remediation, testing, home hygiene and more.
This also includes the ailments that often accompany this such as chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, or Lyme and so on.
When it comes to Lyme, I not only “get it” but I have it. It was a long journey to crawl out of and I used Western and Chinese herbal medicine, acupuncture, cupping, naturopathic doctors, supplements, saunas, foods, and likely the most potent instrument one can use: intuition.
All of the tick-borne and mold tox conditions are a life game changer and no two cases are the same, which means no two treatments are the same.
“Fringe” ailments such as CFS, MCAS, mold toxicity or Lyme at best remain ongoing mysteries from Western medicine, at worst, are denied as being not in your locale (esp. Lyme or mold), or you are declared “normal” despite you are dead tired or in constant pain or discomfort, or you’ve been told “x” is “not what you have” because testing measures are complicated and often inaccurate.
You know yourself better than anyone, so keep listening to your inner canary to find the tools that will stand to move you in your best direction.
