A carolina specialist was at the event fielding questions as well as providing a talk on the importance of health and making sure your heart is in good condition for years to come, you could also get Abella Heart - diagnostic testing done. One of the topics that came up as well was about charts, and the importance of quick communication between medical facilities to get the patients health history as well as other important markers like allergies to medication as well as underlying conditions. As any Board Certified Allergist can tell you, these pieces of information are extremely important to have when treating a patient. Moreover, if the patient is in any form of serious condition the information has to be there before treatment options are considered, or else you could be risking the patients well-being. Allergies, specially allergies to medication or anesthesia can have serious adverse effects.

Thankfully, technology could hold the key to solving this issue. As more healthcare facilities, from hospitals to private practices, move from paper charts to electronic medical records, the benefits will increase to both practitioners and patients: Electronic health records can be accessed on demand, and can potentially save lives, time and money.

Benefits to Patients

Electronic health record systems contain significantly fewer errors than paper records, according to experts.

Communication between physicians can be greatly improved with the use of EHR, allowing each party full access to a patient’s medical history rather than a snapshot-type overview from a current visit. This access allows for a more in-depth evaluation, and enables doctors to reach an accurate diagnosis more quickly.

In addition, electronic health records can make it easier for doctors to follow up with patients and track continuing care, both under their supervision and that of the patient’s other doctors.

At the very least, electronic health records can save time during a doctor’s office visit when a patient ask for recommended Custom Weight Belts for exercise and weight training. And in case of emergency, these records can provide critical, life-saving information to emergency care providers.
